Grand TetonGrand Teton Races - 50 & 100 Miles and a Marathon, Alta, WY. The races are run through the beautiful Teton Mountains. The course is composed of three sections which make one 25 mile loop – the 100 milers will run this ‘loop’ four times and the 50 miles will run the ‘loop’ twice. Club members registered include:
100mi - Joe Prusaitis
50mi - Gaurav Agarwal, Henry Hobbs, Marcia Inger, Larry King, Jeffrey Linwood, & Joyce Prusaitis

Colorado River 100Colorado River 100, Marathon Canoe Race & Adventure Challenge, Bastrop, TX. This is 100 mile canoe race and adventure challenge down the scenic Colorado River. The Colorado River 100 starts in the historic city of Bastrop and finishes 100 miles down river in the majestic town of Columbus. Club members registered for the Colorado River 100 are Liam Douglass, Gayla Harris, John Koonz, & Richard McCormick

New Mexico MarathonNew Mexico Marathon, Albuquerque, NM. The Marathon starts in the shadows Sandia Mountains at 5,800 ft. Runners wind their way down to the bosque trail in Albuquerque's North Valley, as the hot air balloons ascend into the beautiful blue skies. The course concludes at 4,800 ft. near the historic Old Town Plaza. Michelle Wolpert is running the New Mexico Marathon this year.

triathlonCity of Portland Triathlon, Portland, OR. Last year, this was the first major triathlon ever held in downtown Portland. In this event participants swim beneath the signature Portland bridges, rid e amongst the steel and concrete giants, run through parks and paths teeming with urban life. Shawn Bostad is competing in the olympic distance.

Pacific Sonoma CoastSalt Point Trail Run 11 Km, 26 Km, & 50 Km, Salt Point State Park, Jenner, CA. The course goes along the rugged California coastline, with forested hills, open grasslands, prairies, and views of rocky coves and the Pacific Ocean. Jeff Lynn completed the 50K.

Cascade CreastCascade Crest 100, Easton, WA. Cascade Crest has a well deserved reputation as one of the toughest and most scenic 100 milers in the country. The course has some steep climbs and the total elevation gain is 20,470 feet. 30 miles of the course is run on the Pacific Crest Trail and 2 miles are actually run through an old train tunnel. The course surface is 75% trail & 25% dirt road. Diana Heynen completed Cascade Crest this year.

Lean HorseLean Horse Ultra-Marathon, Hundred & Half Hundred, Hot Springs, SD. The 100 Mile and 50 Mile both start and finish right outside race headquarters on the Hot Springs Freedom Trail bike path. There is a 11 miles section on a winding & hilly county road before the course joins the Mickelson Trail. Brad Garrison ran the 50 and Larry White completed the 100 mile.

Cap't Karl'sCapt'n Karl's "Timber Knoll", Pedernales Falls State Park, Johnson City, TX. This is the second race in the Dark Sides Series. The race is either a 6 or 12 hour night run with terrain consisting of hilly, single track and access road. Course length is a 8.5 mile loop. Results will be determined by the participant's laps completed in their respective time class. Club members that ran include:
6 Hour - Dawn Banka, Susan Farago, Denver Fredenburg, Diana Heynen, Bob Janiak, Charlene Janiak, Larry King, Talmedge Matts, Pete Mehok, Kerry Montgomery, Laura Narvaiz, TJ Thompson , Kevin Walker, Leary Walker, & Denise Wenner
12 hour - Dawn Craig, Jeffrey Linwood, Mark Richards, & Mary Ntefidou

Leadville 100 MileLeadville Trail 100, Leadville, CO. Leadville course is a 50 miles out and back in the Colorado Rockies. Lowest point is 9,200 ft. and the highest point is Hope Pass, 12,600 ft. The majority is on forest trails with some mountain roads. Matt Harrington, & Robert King finished Leadville.

Pikes PeakPikes Peak AscentPikes Peak Ascent and Pikes Peak Marathon, Manitou Springs, CO. Both races are run on Barr Trail in Pike National Forest. The trail is often narrow, winding, and may be gravel, rocks or dirt with sharp turns and abrupt changes in elevation. Elevation gain is 7,815 feet & the Ascent finish/Marathon turnaround is at approximately 14,050'. Club members completing Pikes Peakthis year are:
Marathon - Robert Bleich, & Reenie Smith

HeadlandsHeadlands Hundred 50 & 100 Mile Endurance Runs, Rodeo Beach, Golden Gate National Recreation, CA. The course overlooks the Pacific Coast as it winds through the Marin Headlands with views of Tiburon, San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. The 100 mile has an elevation gain of 17,720 feet, while the 50 mile 8.160 feet. Club members completing Headlands include:
100mi - Henry Hobbs, & John Reynolds
50mi - Marcia Inger, & Meredith Terranova
Club members that supported runners include: Brian Brandaw paced Gabe, Noelle Brandaw paced Henry. Janice Aysoncrewed Gabe and Crystal Reynolds crewed John

Skyline 50KSkyline 50K, Castro Valley, CA. The course is a hilly and scenic loop on dirt trails through East Bay Regional Parks from Lake Chabot Marina to Skyline Gate and returning along much of the Skyline National Recreation Trail. Michelle Wolpert completed the Skyline 50K.

White River 50White River 50 Miler, Crystal Mountain WA. The race course has a total elevation change of 17,400 feet. It has rolling terrain, ridge tops, northwest forest, several sections of technical trails, and of course several demanding climbs and challenging descents. Brian Ricketts & Michael Sawyer finished White River.

Chupacabra 10KChupacabra 10K, San Antonio, TX. The run will start and finish in the parking lot of Momaks Grill, north of McAllister Park entrance @ Money Tree and Jones Maltsberger intersection, at 9pm sharp, under a full moon. Entrants will run / walk through well marked, heavily wooded trails, with no aid or water for the entire 6.2 miles. Therefore you are advised to carry your own fluids. Thomas Bowlin, Brian Ricketts, Darren Stanford, & Vicky Stephens ran the Chupacabra 10K night trail run.

Cap't Karl'sCap't Karl's “The All Nighter”, Mule Shoe Bend LCRA Park, Spicewood, TX. The race at Mule Shoe is either a 6 or 12 hour night run with terrain consisting of hilly, single track and access road. Course length is a 7 miles loop. Results will be determined by the participant's laps completed in their respective time class. Members that ran include: Brian Brandaw, Noelle Brandaw, Alan Brock, Carl Davies, Mattrix Harrington, Dorothy Hollis, Bob Janiak, Charlene Janiak, Amy Kennon, Larry King, Kelley Lightfoot, Mary Ntefidou, Judy Shipway, Kevin Walker, Ramsey Wall, Denise Wenner, & Amy Wilson.

Tahoe RimTahoe Rim Trail 50K/50M/100M, Lake Tahoe NV. This race is run in some of the high elevation alpine and sub-alpine regions of the magnificent Sierra Nevada Mountains (A Glimpse of Heaven). The races begin and end at the Spooner Lake State Park, which is at 7,000 feet. The highest point on both courses is just below the 9,214 foot Snow Valley Peak. The low point on both courses is at the bottom of the now "infamous" Red House Loop (A Taste of Hell) at approximately 6800 feet. Members that completed Tahoe Rim include:
100mi - TJ Thompson.
50mi - Naresh Bhagavatha, Diana Heynen, & Meredith Terranova.
50K - Diana Boehm, Linda Boggs, Fred Coogan, Linda Hurd, Jeffrey Linwood, Murali Narasimhan, & Jeanette Spears.

Vermont 100Vermont 100 Endurance Race, Woodstock VT. This one of the original 100 mile runs in the USA and a part of the Grand Slam Series of Ultrarunning. Each year, 300 runners attempt to finish this hilly race over beautiful Vermont back roads and trails under the 30 hour cutoff point, and a well-trained few finish in under 24 hours. John Powers, & Dmitry Rozinsky completed Vermont.

Silver Rush 50 Silver Rush 50 Run, Leadville, CO. The course is 50 miles out and back within the high altitude environment of Leadville's historic east-side mining district. This is a new race created by the folks that do the Leadville 100 Mile. The route is entirely on dirt, rocks, and mud and will offer the runner amazing climbs and exhilarating downhills all with incredible Leadville vistas. Kimberly Pilcher ran the 50 miler.

El ScorchoEl Scorcho, Fort Worth, TX. This race is a "ridiculously foolish endurance" run that starts at midnight. Runners hace a choice of 25 km or 50 km. Members that completed El Scorcho include: Matthew Fleming, Lynnor Matheney, Mark Richards, & Karen Riddle.

HighMountainHigh Mountain 25 km & 50 km Trail Run, Leadville, CO. The course is a 25-kilometer loop with 2,600 ft. of climbing on each lap. The first lap of the 50 km is counter-clockwise around Turquoise Lake, past May Queen Campground, up Sugarloaf Mountain, and down to the HMI campus. The second lap is in reverse. Kimberly Pilcher completed the 50K at High Mountain.

Rattlesnake 50Rattlesnake 50K, Charleston, WV. The race includes: 10 climbs totaling 5,000', 9 heavily stocked aid stations, gravel, dirt (mud if wet), sticks, bugs, snakes, deer, bear and Big Foot (if available). Frank Livaudais finished Rattlesnake this year.

Hardrock 100Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run, Silverton, CO. The course will be run clockwise - a big loop through the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado: Silverton - Ophir - Telluride - Ouray - Sherman - Silverton, 100 miles, 33,000' total elevation gain, 11,186' average elevation, low point 7,680' at Ouray, high point 14,048' at Handies Peak. Club members that completed Hardrock this year include: Kelly Korevec, Joe Prusaitis, & Jon Teisher
